Appointed Division President in 2021, James Valentine has been influential in overseeing IES Electrical’s financial, operational, and strategic initiatives, including building stronger brand awareness and enhancing the company’s visual and market presence.

Under his leadership, IES continues to distinguish itself as a leading national electrical contractor. Valentine joined IES Holdings, Inc. in 2014 as a Special Projects Director. In 2016, he transitioned to the IES Electrical business unit as Vice President of Finance, subsequently serving as Regional Vice President of Operations, Division Senior Vice President, and, in 2021, after guiding the company through the COVID-19 pandemic, was named Division President.

With 30 years of culminated electrical experience, Valentine began his career at Ernst and Young, LLP, where the majority of his clients operated within the construction and engineering industries. At IES Electrical, he has been instrumental in expanding operating margins through cost management, improving project execution, reducing risk, and emphasizing the company’s strong safety culture. Valentine graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Accounting. His strategic vision and leadership continue to drive IES toward sustained growth and industry excellence.
